Description
C220 Enamelled Copper Wire is a dual coated Winding Wire for
use in motor and transformer rewinding.

Thermal Class - 220 Degrees Celsius
The Thermal class is 220 Degrees Celsius as determined
according to IEC 172 and ASTM D2307. The enamel covering has a
thermal index of 226 Degrees Celsius when tested in accordance
with IEC 851-1 to 6.

Properties
The C220 has a modified polyesterimide enamel covering.
This covering has excellent mechanical properties (flexibility
& abrasion), thermal properties (thermal index, heat shock, and
cut through) and excellent chemical resistance. The enamel
coating on this grade is smooth and tough to enable it to
withstand the rigours of typical winding processes.

Typical Applications
In addition to using the wire in all the applications where the Class C200 (200 Degrees Celsius) is used, this wire is used in:
- Low Voltage Motor Windings.
- Transformer Windings.
- Hermetically Sealed Windings.
The C220 wire is also suitable for applications in random wound electrical machines, hermetically sealed refrigeration units and lighting ballasts.

Further Information on Winding Wire
- Wire diameter sizes below 0.400 are only available in Class 200
- Minimum order quantity - One spool.
- All wire sizes are available in smaller spools.
- Spool sizes range between 5kgs to 25 kgs.
